Real Food- Skewed?

I was a bit food frightened when someone said about their Morningstar spicy black bean veggie burger, "it was real food!"

Yikes. Is real food really that misrepresented?

I wanted to compare the ingredients of a REAL burger, to a fake burger.
Real Burger: Grass-Fed Full Fat ground beef. (Grass-fed means the fat is GOOD for you!!)

VS.

Fake "burger":

Ingredients

Black Beans, Textured Vegetable Protein ( Soy Protein Concentrate,Wheat Gluten, Water for Hydration)Cooked Brown Rice (Water, Brown Rice)Onions, Water, Whole Kernal Corn, Corn Oil, Egg Whites, Diced Tomatoes, Bulgur, Mild Green Chili Peppers, Calcium Caseinate, Cornstarch, contains two percent or less of Onion Powder, Spices (MSG warning***) Autolyzed Yeast Extract, Tomato Juice, Tomato (Dried)Dextrose, Garlic Powder, Salt, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein (Corn Gluten, Wheat Gluten, Soy Protein)Natural Flavors from Non-Meat Sources, Soy Sauce (Soybeans, Wheat, Salt)Paprika for Color, Jalapeno Pepper Powder, Disodium Isonate, Caramel Color, Calcium Chloride, Lactic Acid, Oil of Lemon, Citric Acid.

Textured Vegetable Protein is not food! This "burger" is an "Edible Foodlike Substance"

*** anything labeled "spices" is most likely the neurotoxin MSG!

Real Grass-Fed Beef is a much better choice, and it is a REAL food.

Haha - I grew up eating that "food", and it's a conversation I continue to have with my mother about what constitutes her idea of "food" vs. mine! :) I always prefer to be able to pronounce, let alone spell, the ingredient list! ;)
